Map of Lighthouses offering "keeper" opportunities
The map in the link above shows lighthouses were you have the opportunity to serve as a "keeper." Depending on the lighthouse, you will stay either in the lighthouse, a keeper's dwelling, your own RV, or a nearby cabin, and your responsibilities may include giving tours, performing maintenance, and working in a gift shop. Payment is required to serve at some of the lighthouses while others are free or require membership in a sponsoring organization. The length of duty varies from a few days to several months.
